Abstract
"Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is an autoimmune demyelinating disease of the central nervous system that preferentially involves the optic nerve and spinal cord. We report a patient who presented with acute transverse myelitis in the cervical spinal cord that extended to the lower brainstem in whom active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) was diagnosed simultaneously. This report adds to the literature on the possible association between active TB and seronegative NMOSD and highlights the need for special considerations in treating these two conditions concurrently.
