Abstract |
"We report a case of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy who presented with sudden onset visual field defect. A 41-year-old man complained of sudden onset left-sided visual defect anddizziness. Brain MRI disclosed multiple high signal intensity lesions involving bilateral parieto-occipitallobes and corpus callosum with positive serum human immunodeficiency virus antibody. With animpression of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, we initiated highly active antiretroviraltherapy, but the patient's clinical course worsened to near total blindness.
