Abstract |
"We report a 39-year-old man with recurrent herpes simplex virus (HSV) encephalitis whose brain MRI revealed bilateral high signal intensity of the hippocampus despite administration of intravenousacyclovir for presumed herpes encephalitis. This case not only demonstrated unusual MRI findingsfor recurrent HSV encephalitis, but it also revealed that HSV encephalitis can relapse despite intravenousantiviral treatment. Therefore, close observation or sufficient duration of treatment is neededfor patients with HSV encephalitis. Journal of Multiple Sclerosis 9(2):38-40, 2018" |
