Abstract
"Idiopathic CNS inflammatory demyelinating disorders include multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica (NMO), transverse myelitis, and optic neuritis. These disorders sometimes occur with establishedsystemic autoimmune diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosusand other organ?specific autoimmune diseases. We summarize the current evidence of systemic autoimmunityin MS and NMO, and discuss the practical implications for clinical management. Journal of Multiple Sclerosis 5(2):29-33, 2014"
