Abstract

"Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. The clinical course of MS is variable case by case. Patients with low levels of disability after a course of10 or 15 years may be considered benign MS. In the past, the level of disability was determined byExpanded Disability Status Scale, so non-motor symptoms were less reflected. At the last decade,the studies of non-motor symptoms and magnetic resonance image suggest the need of a newdefinition. In the future, through the long term studies about neuropsychological test and magneticresonance image, the truly benign multiple sclerosis may be determined.
