"Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is a demyelinating disorder characterized by acute or subacute optic neuritis and transverse myelitis. Its usual symptoms are bilateral or monocular visual loss, motor deficits,sphincter disturbances, sensory deficits under the specific dermatome level caused by spinalcord and optic nerve involvement. However, brainstem involvement can occur in patients with NMOor NMO spectrum disorders. Here, we report an atypical case of NMO spectrum disorder presentingas hiccup and left trigeminal neuralgia.
